Local delivery and installation is available, however as we are a small business and do not have specific delivery staff, assistance at the other end is appreciated.

Black Dog use independent third party freight carriers to deliver outside the local area. Shipping is a 1 man freight service door to door and does not include installation of furniture.

Note: It can be significantly cheaper to have your furniture delivered to the nearest carrier depot. Rural home deliveries can include a surcharge. We will provide a quote for both options at the time of ordering if appropriate.

Assisting the carrier at your end helps reduce extra charges for a two or more person delivery.
Customers are responsible for informing Black Dog of unusual delivery logistics such as remote rural locations, restricted access, stairs or narrow entries.
If you would prefer a Home 2 Home specialised furniture service, we can quote. We do suggest this for larger, indoor or high value items.   A 2 man delivery service is offered where required.

Receiving Your Delivery

You will be informed once your furniture is ready and of any outstanding balance due.

Once payment is received, your details are passed onto our freight carriers.

Some products can be delivered partially assembled, to reduce freight costs, or fully assembled.

If the delivery can be completed sooner or if there are any unforeseen delays we will be in contact. Delays do not constitute a breach of contract and Black Dog is not liable or responsible for any disruptions or costs incurred.

In most cases, Black Dog will add email notifications to your delivery consignment so you should be notified along the way as to your furniture’s movements.
The freight company should call you ahead to organise delivery with you or will call to advise your furniture has arrived at the depot and is ready for collection.
They do require someone to accept and attend at the time your furniture is arriving.
We will request the driver call you before arrival to advise on an eta.


  1. The freight service provided is a 1 man standard service and does not include installation –please ensure you have others to assist on delivery if required.
  2. Please advise of any difficult delivery logistics they need to be aware of such as narrow doors, steep driveways, carrying long distances up steps etc, these may be subject to surcharges.

As mentioned in our Ts and Cs, if you would prefer a Home 2 Home specialised furniture service we can requote. We do suggest this for larger, indoor or high value items.


It is the customer’s responsibility to check the delivery before signing for it. The driver will allow time to inspect products before signing.
If there are any issues, record on the delivery docket.
Only sign if you are satisfied with the condition of the packaging.
You have the right to reject the delivery if you feel there are issues.
