Black Dog Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for informing Black Dog of unusual delivery logistics such as remote rural locations, restricted access, stairs or narrow entries. Surcharges may apply.

Online Orders
Dispatch will be within 5-10 working days of the order being placed.
Your order will be flatpacked with detailed simple instructions on assembly.

Customer Collect: Our sales staff will be in touch to advise once your product is ready for collection.

Showroom and Website orders
You will be informed once products are ready.

Once full payment is received, you can either;

– Collect your furniture from our showroom, 483 Peake Road, Cambridge  OR
– We’ll have your furniture packed up and ready to be freighted, either by Mainfreight or our third party specialised moving service.

Assistance available Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4pm.

Opening hours 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 2pm on Saturdays.
(We are closed public holidays)

Local Delivery
Local (Cambridge & surrounding areas) delivery and installation is available, however as we are a small business and do not have specific delivery staff, assistance at the other end is appreciated.

Freight Company Delivery
Black Dog use independent freight carriers to deliver outside of our local area. Shipping is 1 man door to door and does not include installation of furniture.
It can be cheaper to have your furniture delivered to the nearest carrier depot, at the quoting stage we may provide costings for both your residential address and the closet depot.
Rural home deliveries and difficult delivery logistics may require an added surcharge.   Customers are responsible for informing Black Dog of unusual delivery logistics such as remote rural locations, restricted access, stairs or narrow entries.
Some products can also be delivered partially assembled to reduce freight costs.
Furniture will be packed onto a pallet and plastic wrapped. Installation is not included with this service.
In most cases, Black Dog will add email notifications to your delivery consignment so you should be notified along the way as to your furniture’s movements.
This service is mainly used for outdoor furniture.

Specialised Furniture Delivery
Alternatively, Black Dog use independent specialised furniture movers who collect from our showroom once weekly and will place your furniture into position at your home with extra care and furniture will be securely stowed in getting to you.
This service is mainly used for indoor or larger heavy outdoor items.

Receiving Your Delivery
The company delivering your furniture will contact you and confirm day of delivery or that furniture is available for collection at depot.
If the delivery can be completed sooner or if there are any unforeseen delays we will communicate this with you. Delays do not constitute a breach of contract and Black Dog is not liable or responsible for any disruptions or costs incurred.

Damage
It is the customer’s responsibility to check the delivery before signing for it. The driver will allow time to inspect products before signing.
If there are any issues, record on the delivery docket.
Only sign if you are satisfied with the condition of the packaging.
You have the right to reject the delivery if you feel there are issues.
